Welcome to Owl's Nest cottage rental. We are situated on 230 rolling forested acres in the Gatineau Hills of Quebec
on a small quiet lake. You are sitting up on the side of a hill with a magnificent view of the lake and 400 ft from the
shore with about 94 steps to the waters edge. There is a 12 by 16' dock where you can relax on Adirondack chairs, watch the wildlife and birds all around you.  There are  trails on the property for you to enjoy. While at Owl's Nest you can also enjoy the city of Ottawa/Gatineau which is only a 30 minute drive away. We are open all year for you to enjoy any season. Winter requires that you have good winter tires.

There is satellite TV (great satellite music) as well as a DVD player. Bring your favorite DVD's or rent them in the village of Perkins. We do have a good selection. We also have a wireless high speed satellite internet connection for you.

There are four downhill ski resorts within a half hour drive. Lakefront, stream, hills and forest, it is the ideal spot for anyone interested in bird watching or tracking. Dog sledding is available nearby.

In the summer you can canoe, hike and swim off of the swimming raft in the lake. There is a canoe, paddle boat and row boat for your use. There are two life jackets included, but because life jackets are a personal thing, please bring your own. No sandy beaches....the lake is a mud bottom lake with weeds on the shoreline where the wildlife abounds. From the large dock you can take a water craft to the swimming raft a short distance away. There are 94 steps down to the lake. In June and part of July you will hear a symphony of bull frogs. There are no motor boats on the lake, adding to the peace and tranquility. You can fish for pike and bass. No loud noise or parties after 10:30 pm please. There is only one neighbour which is barely visible down the road.

The village of Perkins is only 3 miles away where you will find a couple of basic local restaurants, or you can pick up some prepared food and a bottle of wine/beer/liquor at the local grocer's deli, then bring it back to the lake to enjoy. There is a BBQ & extra tank for your use. The kitchen is very well equipped for anything that you may want to cook or bake.

The focal point of Owl's Nest is the magnificent central fieldstone fireplace with woodstove inserts at both ends. There is a fire pit on the lawn for you to enjoy.

At the cottage there is a large screened in porch and deck for you to enjoy the view. There is a table and chairs in the porch should you wish to eat out there as well as a couch for an afternoon rest.

Rental Contract Will be emailed to be filled in, signed and returned with your deposit and post dated checks.
