The Yurt B&B is now closed expect for persons with gift certificates. The yurt is only available with Lone Wolf Cabin Rental this winter. In the summer it will be moved to its own location and available for rent exclusively by the week. It will have its own composting toilet, BBQ, water as well as well as access with your own private dock and canoe on Lone Wolf Lake.
We hope to have this move completed some time in June 2010 and until then we cannot post pictures of the new site. This is how it looks now. Check back once in a while to see changes that we make.

Virtual Tour
Our Yurt is located in the Gatineau Hills of Quebec near a small ten acre private pond which you will have access and your own private dock..
The property is surrounded by lots of little solar lights. Lucy and Dwight pay special attention to all the little details that will delight you. The yurt is a beautiful warm and cozy authentic Mongolian yurt that is furnished with an eclectic mix of furniture. The yurts interior wooden structure that supports the yurt has all been hand cut and split, then painted in the traditional Mongolian way in Mongolia. It is covered first with a mosquito netting, insulated with thick wool felts and then Tyvec (not traditional but necessary for our climate) and lastly the canvas. This is all tied around with horse hair rope. The top peak has a round window.....which is covered in the winter..............well you will just have to come to see how it all works. Remember winter in the yurt required keeping the fire going by adding wood every few hours. It is like luxurious camping. We also try to maintain a skating rink.
There is a very comfy queen bed, down duvet, quilt, table and chairs, Double sofa bed, rocking chair, bench, oriental rugs and lots of books and games as well as tea lights. Solar powered energy efficient lights. The yurt is ideally suited for two persons but can sleep four. There is a little Vermont Castings wood stove.. The woodstove will provide the heat for chilly nights or winter get aways. The floor has R-22 insulation. The cooler nights of September you can make a small fire to take the chill off while you snuggle back in bed. There are numerous walking trails and deer trails on our 230 acres of forest which we encourage you to explore as well as a couple of canoes and a paddleboat for floating on the pond. In the winter weather permitting there will be skating on the lake. Awesome snowshoeing off the beaten trail. There is a small kitchenette and BBQ outside.
You can have a campfire to sit by in the evening and if you are lucky you may wake up to hear a pack of coyotes or the Lone Wolf!
BATHING. There is an outdoor shower with a solar water when the sun is shining or you can heat up a bucket of water with the Coleman water heater outside and bring it into the outdoor shower, there will be a 1000 litre resevoir of water, a filering system for your drinking water and an outhouse with compostiing toilet.
Hot water is also provided by a coleman hot water heater.
Dwight and Lucy have looked after all the little details.
